Rage Leeds was a Leeds-based game developer founded by Wayne Smithson in 1982 under the name Smithson Computing. After a good relationship with Psygnosis, the name was changed to WJS Design.
Smithson switched WJS Design from a sole trader business to a limited company, and Sunrise Games was incorporated on 12 January 1995. Sunrise was later renamed RGB Tree on 11 January 2000. Rage acquired the company less than a month later, where RGB Tree then became Rage Leeds.
