Double Diamond Sports was founded by programmer Mark Lesser and EA Sports' Michael Brook. It was originally incorporated on May 14, 1993, as InPlay Productions and went by the name InPlay Sports. The name was changed on May 25, 1994, because Interplay Productions had an issue with it.
